Triple glazing a new generation
The passive triple glazing windows get lighter with a better reliability, that is the last technological advance in terms of passive components. The frame, which was sometimes reproached its heaviness and its imposing thickness, was refined. The passive windows of second generation are designed with a lighter frame, whatever the used material. From now on, the section of frame in contact with the exterior is thus smaller, which reduces in fact the heat transfers by the frame between the inside and ythe outside of the building.
A guide to live in a Passive House
Considering to live in a Passive House carries out many, sometimes astonishing, questions. Thus, a guide gathers informations to inform – and to reassure – the future inhabitants of Passive Standard houses. It is true that some technical equipments are a little different from those of an actual standard house (in particular ventilation with heat recovery), but the use of this equipment is not more complicated. To live in a Passive House happens to be, by certain aspects, simpler than living in a current standard house.
Europe: no subsidies, little savings
The households are very inclined to reduce their energy consumption, but less are ready to invest in the insulation of their housing and in clean cars without subsidies. Thus, only 19% of them had insulation work done and only 6 % only acquired a cleaner car. 40% of the questioned people wish to benefit from tax reductions encouraging energy saving, and 36% are favorable to introduction of competition between energy suppliers.
The survey was asked by the European Parliament and carried out in February 2011. 26.836 interviews were carried out in the 27 Member States
(Newspress, May 10th 2011).
